MohammadAGSorry about the rate of update rolling, but this issue seems big enough to need it01:39
MohammadAG16.8 is a security update which removes the DigiNotar compromised certificates01:39
MohammadAGnothing more, nothing less01:39
MohammadAGthe patch/update is from a Nokian http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=1084756&postcount=3301:40
freemangordonMohammadAG , facebook logon problem is confirmed to be because of user agent01:42
freemangordonwondering how to fix it01:42
MohammadAGby poking fun at facebook01:43
MohammadAGtechnically it's not our fault01:43
MohammadAGor it's trolltech's fault01:43
freemangordonyep, but we should find wome temporary workaround at least01:43
freemangordon*some01:43
MohammadAGregardless, a fix would be to force the 4.7.0 useragent01:43
freemangordondid you mail facebook support?01:44
MohammadAGno, not yet01:44
freemangordonok, lets see how they will respond, fix is easy to be impemented if they decline to include current user agent01:45
MohammadAGgot a link to a screenshot?01:46
MohammadAGand if you have the useragent at hand01:46
freemangordonhold on a second, i have tcpdump log01:47

freemangordonpastebin is not a good idea, will PM on TMO01:52

freemangordonanyway as I already told you the offending element is this "<script type="text/javascript">window.Bootloader && Bootloader.done(["LayX0","jmiSQ","eA0FZ"]);</script>"01:56
freemangordonit is "&&" that bugs webkit01:57
freemangordonI think the best solution will be control panel applet that sets useragent for all qt apps01:58
freemangordonthere is similar app for micrb, can't remember the name01:59

psycho_oreoswhy?11:04
CreteilHow I can add a Poll in an open thread at TMO ?11:05
CreteilIs there a way ?11:05
psycho_oreosyeah when you create a thread there's an option to create a poll through there11:05
Creteilpsycho_oreos, so, I can't add a poll in a middle of a thread already open ?11:06
psycho_oreosCreteil, not that I know of no.. I'm going to verify that now11:06
Creteils/a middle of //11:06
merlin1991Hm are there any good solutions to connect to a remote dbus?11:07
merlin1991i'm thinking of connecting to the n900 bus to register sms and other things11:07
psycho_oreosjust re-verified it, nope you can't add polls to an existing thread11:07
Creteilpsycho_oreos, ok :-(11:08
Creteilmerlin1991, http://gabriel.sourceforge.net/howto.html11:08
MohammadAGCreteil, psycho_oreos check thread tools11:22
MohammadAGright above the first post in the page11:22
psycho_oreosMohammadAG, nothing about creating a poll or anything that describes poll in there. My options were: show printable version, print this page and subscribe to this thread11:24
CreteilMohammadAG, same for me ... :-(11:24
psycho_oreosI'm guessing you may get that extra option if you were the thread starter (i.e. OP)11:25

freemangordonpali*11:28
CreteilNo11:28
merlin1991Sry to ask but what does 49 bring in changes?11:29
freemangordonThen ask him and merge changes on gitorious once you are a maintainer, then put new version in extras-devel. Otherwise you are effectively forking.11:29

freemangordonoutside of scratchbox11:31
merlin1991Ofc git inside scratchbox is pita11:31
Creteilmerlin1991, I think git push when you have used git clone before, on my side I have apt-get source and worked from here ... :-(11:31
freemangordonthen git ini, git pull11:32
freemangordongit init*11:32

merlin1991freemangordon: nope11:34
freemangordonwhy11:34
merlin1991git clone or you have to add the remote manually11:34

psycho_oreoslooks like latest CSSU (16.8) freezes GPS programs when it properly receives the co-ordinates. mece asked this question in #maemo and I just checked it on both of my N900 with his case being true. My old N900 which has the latest CSSU doesn't receive co-ordinates and is prevented from refreshing on Columbus. My new N900 which has I think CSSU 15 takes matter of seconds to receive and display co-ordinates using Columbus15:45

freemangordonMohammadAG, new MR for tinymail here https://gitorious.org/community-ssu/tinymail/merge_requests/3 , seems like this fixes part of the modest crashes20:59
freemangordonthere is another crash in modest itself, have backtrace if someone is interested21:00
arcean_freemangordon: Qt sets HILDON_PORTRAIT_REQUEST on every window switched to portrait21:02
arcean_for eg our Calculator app21:02
arcean_and this flag is for apps, which works only in portrait21:03
arcean_mode21:03
arcean_QMaemo5OrientationManager::applyOrientation(QWidget *w) in qwidget_x11.cpp21:06
arcean_it's upstream problem21:06
freemangordon_nope, this flag is that app that wants to be  rotated immediately21:07
freemangordon_BTW cannot talk right now, sorry21:07
arcean_hildon app sets REQUEST when it wants to be in portrait only21:08
arcean_if the are supported both orientations, then SUPPORT is used21:09
freemangordon_phone-ui behaves exatly in the same way21:10
arcean_nope21:10
arcean_i have compared behaviors of hildon based apps an qt's ones21:10
freemangordon_nothing has changed compared to 47021:11
freemangordon_afaik21:11
arcean_ok, i will try to make them working like hildon apps21:12
* Creteil currently compiling modest with patches : https://gitorious.org/community-ssu/tinymail/merge_requests/321:12
freemangordon_arcean_ , what si the real problem21:13
freemangordon_*is21:13
arcean_the thing is, in hildon app we are supposed to set SUPPORT flag, when we want both orientations21:14
arcean_in Qt there is also used REQUEST flag to switch orientation, when we hold device in vertical position21:15
freemangordon_nope, both flags can be used, the thing is that if you set REQUEST flag your app is rotated to portrait even the device is in landscape. REQUEST implies SUPPORT21:16

merlin1991you can with installing all the proper package versions21:58
merlin1991meaning apt-get install qt-core=xyyz ...21:58
lordnibblaAh, but are you talking about installing maemo orig. package vers or the previous cssu package vers?  I want to go back to the last cssu vers before 1622:02
merlin1991either way you'd have to find out the proper versions and install them manually22:03
lordnibblawell, it seems from the doc page that you can use sysklogd without r&d mode so I;m trying that now.22:08
merlin1991yeah the point to use r&d is, that with r&d your device won't reboot when dmse normally decides to reboot because of a sw fault22:13
merlin1991you should get the log both ways though22:13
*** Atarii has joined #maemo-ssu22:23

Just wanted to ask you, do you mind you to try to find the bug, as it seems you have spent a lot of time debuggimng modest. So you are much more familiar than me how the thing work.23:33
