freemangordonEnrico_Menotti: I doubt "original" gtk has debian folder00:17
freemangordonhowever, you should use dpkg-buildpackage, as it passes various things to ./configure script00:18
Enrico_Menottihttps://git.gnome.org/browse/gtk+/tree/debian?h=gtk-2-2400:18
freemangordonhmm, weird00:18
Enrico_MenottiAlso ./autogen.sh passes things to the configure script - more than this, the configure does not even exist. It is *created* and executed by autogen.sh. (If I'm not wrong.)00:19
Enrico_MenottiSee https://git.gnome.org/browse/gtk+/tree/HACKING?h=gtk-2-24.00:19

freemangordonEnrico_Menotti: there is no debian folder in gtk+2.0_2.24.25.orig.tar.xz00:20
Enrico_MenottiSorry, where did you get it? I used git to clone the gnome repository.00:21
freemangordonwith apt-get source00:21
Enrico_MenottiAh.00:22
freemangordonbut indeed, it should not be like that00:22
Enrico_MenottiThe Debian folder, the autogen.sh, or both?00:22
freemangordonthe debian folder00:23
*** Cor-Ai has joined #maemo00:24
freemangordonEnrico_Menotti: also, there is no autogen.sh in that archive00:25
freemangordonweird00:25
Enrico_MenottiSo what's the "right" way?00:26
*** eMHa__ has quit IRC00:27
freemangordonwell, do apt-get source and then replace debian folder with the one from gtk2 repo00:27
Enrico_MenottiOk, and then dpkg-buildpackage, right?00:27
freemangordonthen do dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -b (unless you need the source package)00:27
freemangordonright00:27
*** Pali has quit IRC00:27
Enrico_MenottiOk, tomorrow I'll investigate all the details of dpkg-buildpackage. I also have to take care of apt-get sourcing the right version of gtk, right?00:29
freemangordonno, it will download the lates00:32
freemangordon*latest00:32
Enrico_MenottiI mean downloading gtk2 and not gtk3.00:39

Sicelo009Nsomeone renewed the certificate for supl.nokia.com17:49
Sicelo009Nit's a bit mysterious although i'm not complaining :~)17:50
jonwilLooks like the domain is resolving again too17:50
jonwilor not17:51
Sicelo009Nnot17:51
jonwilyeah its my DNS that's giving me false readings17:51
jonwilactually no, a dns record for it seems to exist but pointing to 127.0.0.117:52
Sicelo009Nyes, that's been the case for a while now17:53
Sicelo009Nif we could know who renews the cert, and get them to fix this17:53
Sicelo009Nevidently they have a reason to renew the cert17:54
jonwilThe whois record lists dnsauthority@nokia.com as the admin email, maybe contacting that address would help...17:55
Sicelo009Nmaybe there's an updated supl server name that depends on it ... maybe for lumias or whatever else that had Here maps17:55
Sicelo009Njob for council maybe?17:55
jonwilYeah possible17:55
jonwilIts possible the certificate renewal was some sort of semi-automated process17:58
Sicelo009Npossible too17:59
Sicelo009Nthought of that, but still ... that hints at a box somewhere still being maintained (at least kept running, haha)18:00

jonwilanyhow, what matters is that (with the right hosts file entry) supl on n900 will keep working for now18:05

freemangordonsicelo: it might be that DNS resolves different IP depending on the location19:34
freemangordonif you try to resolve from internet, it leads to amazon servers19:35

Enrico_Menottifreemangordon Hello. I just did apt-get source gtk+2.0 on Devuan. Got warnings about the package signature:19:51
Enrico_Menottigpgv: keyblock resource `/root/.gnupg/trustedkeys.gpg': file open error19:51
Enrico_Menottigpgv: Signature made Thu 24 Mar 2016 22:17:12 CET using RSA key ID C37C4E3619:51
Enrico_Menottigpgv: Can't check signature: public key not found19:51
Enrico_Menottidpkg-source: warning: failed to verify signature on ./gtk+2.0_2.24.25-3+deb8u1.dsc19:51
Enrico_MenottiI this normal? I did one time a public key installation, for emdebian. But I just followed instructions. How to correct it here?19:52

freemangordonEnrico_Menotti: why do you need signed package?20:08
freemangordonalso, why you're using root account?20:09
freemangordonEnrico_Menotti: also, is this a "stock" devuan or you've played with it a bit?20:10
Enrico_MenottiWell, the root account is just because I had to use it for some tasks (for example debootstrapping Devuan for the N900), and I just kept on using that, so I don't have to do sudo or similar things. It may be it's the wrong way, yes.20:11
Enrico_MenottiThis Devuan installation is quite brand new - just did an apt-get dist-upgrade, and installed a few packages.20:11
freemangordonEnrico_Menotti: dist-upgrade?20:11
Enrico_MenottiIs that wrong?20:12
freemangordonwell, all my work is on jessie20:13
freemangordonno idea if it will work on newer20:13
Enrico_MenottiBut in my sources.list I have Jessie, not newer distributions. I thought a dist-upgrade just downloaded newer versions for packages, without moving to other distributions.20:14
Enrico_MenottiAm I wrong?20:14
freemangordonno, it is "upgrade" that does it, dist-upgrade upgrades to newer distro version20:16
*** vahe has quit IRC20:16
freemangordonif available ofc20:16
Enrico_MenottiI had read some things about the difference between apt-get upgrade and apt-get dist-upgrade, and as far as I can understand the difference is manly (or even only) that the former only upgrades installed packages, while the latter also removes/adds packages. Is this correct?20:17
Enrico_MenottiIn any case, since I only have Jessie in the sources.list, may I tell that I am still on Jessie?20:17
bencohfreemangordon: even when release name is explicitely mentionned in sources.list? *doubt*20:17
freemangordonok, I might be wron, however it is OT here20:18
freemangordonEnrico_Menotti: but apt-get unable to verify signatures smells like a broke package management20:18
freemangordon*broken20:18
Enrico_MenottiI just read a few things about the gpgv file open error above. I was surely missing debian-keyring. I installed it. However, still no .gnupg directory. I'd try to verify the signature again, but I don't know how to do that without re-downloading the source package for gtk+.20:21
Enrico_Menotti...had a look around and still not clear. Since it's a bit off-topic here, I will ask on #devuan.20:30

Enrico_Menottifreemangordon Yesterday you said that there is no debian folder in gtk+2.0_2.24.25.orig.tar.xz. I did apt-source and I end up with a gtk+2.0-2.24.25 which contains a debian folder. I will replace it with yours, ok?22:15
Enrico_MenottiNow, for the actual build: the INSTALL file suggests to use ./configure and make. The HACKING file suggests ./autogen.sh, which however does not exist here. You also mentioned pdkg-buildpackage. Is that different from ./configure and make?22:16
