newbieAlert_hello. I am getting ssl issues in chroot. Links2 says "unable to get local issuer certificate", netsurf and others simply crash. I checked there was no /etc/ssl folder in chroot, which i later copied from maemo but the error still exists08:56
bencohnewbieAlert_: you need to rehash (?) your certs09:25
bencohc_rehash might help09:25
bencohmaemo doesn't use /etc/ssl to store certs btw, so you probably copied empty folders09:26
newbieAlert_bencoh: yes. My bad, i checked the folders in /etc/ssl .. cert folder is empty. it just has an openssl.cnf and private folder.09:29
newbieAlert_bencoh: a quick google showed certs are supposed to be in /etc/ssl/certs ( as soft links ) or  /usr/share/ca-certificates09:33
newbieAlert_both are empty here.09:33
*** nslu2-log has quit IRC09:39
*** Pali has joined #maemo09:43
bencohnewbieAlert_: you'd better import those from a standard debian09:57
bencohor insall certs using apt-get in chroot09:57
bencoh(dunno which chroot you're talking about though)09:57
enycI'm getting "Sorry, it seems that you are using an IP address or a proxy that is listed in the forum anti spam blacklist. Feel free to contact our staff on irc freenode #maemo channel."  from  talk.maemo.org  !!10:02
enyctalk.maemo.org seems to be legacy internet only,   90.155.46.46   will be the outbound connection address used to reach site.   This is (at least now{ nat64 gateway locked down to AAISP users.10:03
enycCan an admin look to see if  90.155.46.46  is actually any 'recent' abuse -- and unblock if possible ???10:03
KotCzarnyyou can just google: 90.155.46.46 spam10:03
enycotherwise, will get RevK on case to investigate ongoing trouble within isp10:03
KotCzarnymost likely someone wasn't good kid10:04

deltL29Ah: battery was brand new :/11:00
deltie. i just did replace it11:00
L29Ahtry charging it with an external charger then11:00
KotCzarnydelt, maybe you broke the os earlier and dont remember?11:00
L29Ahand see if charging it in phone works after you boot into linux after it's charged11:01
deltKotCzarny: it was working fine last time it turned on11:01
KotCzarnythen it's definitely the battery11:01
deltand i'm pretty sure it would still work fine if i hook up an adapter directly to the battery contacts11:01
L29Ahin my experience, n900 is quite picky in terms of usb charging supplier and may need a nudge to force it to charge; n810 may have the same code for that11:01
KotCzarnyl29ah, last time i've tried plain 2mm-to-usb adapter it was working fine11:02
KotCzarnyso either i had good charger or its not that picky11:02
L29AhKotCzarny: it dislikes my thinkpad sometimes11:03
L29Ahmaybe i have crappy wires tho11:03
deltso, with external charger, screen blinks on/off ... and connected to the pc with usb, nothing :/11:03
L29Ahhave you measured the battery voltage?11:04
KotCzarnydelt: you cannot power n810 via usb port on device11:04
deltsupposed to be 3.7v right?11:04
L29Ah>3.4 to be able to boot11:04
KotCzarnyit has to be through the battery11:04
deltKotCzarny: yeah i remember something to that effect with this devie11:04
deltdevice**11:04
KotCzarnyso, if you know how to play with wires you can grab any other working li-ion battery and contact it to device11:05
KotCzarnyjust dont short them or it will end up in fire11:05
delthaha yeah11:06
deltor i guess i could just use a 5v power adapter and drop the voltage with a few diodes11:06
KotCzarnywell, fully charged liion is ~4.2V11:06
KotCzarnyso it should accept that too11:07
deltand a diode will drop that by 0.7V11:07
deltanyway this battery was brand new, last thing i did was replace it, but then the unit was on a shelf for several months11:08
deltnow i'm trying to revive it to replace another tablet, for the sole purpose of playing language lessons 24/7 to a bluetooth speaker11:08
deltor through its own speaker(s) if it doesn't have bluetooth11:09
KotCzarnyget multimeter and check voltage on contacts11:09
deltyeah i need a battery for my multimeter :/11:09
KotCzarnyyou seem to be dischargive type11:09
deltdischargive?11:09
KotCzarnyall your batteries are discharged11:10
delthaha :D11:10
KotCzarnyhe, he11:10
deltok thanks very much for the help guys11:11

Micheal_a380Hello. From the forums I see that a lot of people have high capacity (>32GB) microSD cards working with their N900. Does the N900 have limited read or write speed?12:23
*** florian has joined #maemo12:31
*** spinal84 has joined #maemo12:33
*** L29Ah has joined #maemo12:37
VajbMicheal_a380: i think i read somewhere that it should be as fast as possible. I've had SanDisk 32GB class 10 card for several years and haven't got any problems with it12:44
Micheal_a380Vajb: I thought so, wasn't sure. Thanks.12:46
Vajbdon't know if there is limits, but i doubt it. My friend has galaxy 3 phone and it can only have one copying process at a time from computer while my n900 can have as many i like to.12:46
KotCzarnyum, vajb, there are sd card able to do hundreds of megs/s12:46
KotCzarnyi dont think n900 would do that12:46
VajbKotCzarny: but i guess that is still better that limiting factor is n900 not card12:48
KotCzarny:)12:48
KotCzarnyyou want iops mostly, not sequential12:48
ShadowJK^^^12:49
KotCzarnyand class10 etc only tells you about seq speed. for iops you have to benchmark yourself of google12:50
KotCzarny(or just go with samsung evo+/pro+12:51

sicelo-Vajb: the SGS3 likely appears as MTP device, not Mass Storage. I don't think that would really be a problem, but might very well account for the difference you observed16:48
Vajbsicelo-: might be the case. Also couldn't copy from and to at the same time16:50
