Tuxprobeyo, anyone ever used gtkhtml?15:21
Tuxprobeim looking for the api, what i am looking at is outdated i think15:22
lcukTuxprobe, theres a few apps using it afaik15:22
Tuxprobeany references i could look up source from? =)15:23
lcukwell thats what i was just looking for15:24
lcukhttp://maemo.org/packages/package_instance/view/diablo_extras_free_armel/libgtkhtml2-0/2.11.1-2maemo1/15:24
lcuki thought that showed reverse depends15:24
lcukbut i was mistaken15:24
*** JLP has quit IRC15:25
Tuxprobeit has libxml and some to libgail as 'base' depends15:25
Tuxprobeits exactly that package i wanna use15:25
lcukjeremiah, you know packaging really well, knowing the library, is there any dpkg magic to show which apps use gtkhtml15:25
lcukyeah Tuxprobe15:26
lcukhttp://www.google.co.uk/search?&q=maemo+Libgtkhtml2    narrows it down somewhat15:27
lcukto try and find you the packages using it15:27
lcukanyway, must dash, good luck15:27
Tuxprobethx thx :)15:28
Tuxprobemost hits im getting are 'they broke api' etc, rendering some problems in for instance evolution15:28
Tuxprobeand http://www.fifi.org/doc/libgtkhtml-dev/html/gtkhtml.html shows non-existing prototypes15:29

crabsodyhello to all18:46
crabsodyI have a question. I need to save for my application a string list (a list with phone numbers actually). Is there a "maemo way" to store things like that or should I save a file of my own (e.g. /home/user/.myapp/phonelist.txt) ?18:48
crabsodyanyone?19:01
lcukcrabsody, depending on the toolkit you are using (which out of interest)19:02
lcukand your personal requirements - it might be just as easy to use something like xml19:02
lcukbut theres no hard and fast rules :) its linux, open formats prefered but you are invited to the party with whatever you need19:03
crabsodyI see19:03
crabsodyI though of GConf  for a while19:03
lcukare you writing in gtk then?19:04
lcukor in qt19:04
lcukor something else19:04
crabsodyqt19:04

lcukcrabsody, then afaik isnt xml the default format used in most examples?19:05
crabsodywhich examples do you mean?19:05
crabsodyI have just started learning. are there any examples for qt + maemo to read?19:06
lcukqt is cross platform19:06
lcukgeneral examples work :)19:06
crabsody:) ok19:06
lcukespecially for things like file handling and class persistence etc19:07
crabsodyok. thank you very much19:08
w00t_crabsody: QSettings19:08
w00t_take a look at it19:08
crabsodyQSettings seems nice. I will take a look. Thanks w00t_19:09
w00t_no problem19:09
w00t_let me know if you need a hand with qt/maemo stuff, I experiment a lot there, so I've probably had to play with it before :)19:10
crabsodythanks. Maybe I will need some help. I had many problems already :)19:12

*** Pengman has joined #maemo-devel19:30
PengmanI am having trouble figuring out the package promotion for maemo. I have an app in the extras-devel repo, and I have pressed the "promote" link last night and now it has the status of "Package promoted" on http://maemo.org/packages/package_instance/view/fremantle_extras-devel_free_armel/nqaap/0.6.0-1/. So what happens now? Will I get an email at some point or what?19:39
fralsthe promoter seems to be fubar atm as my packages from autobuilder hasnt landed in -devel yet19:40
fralsbut what usually happens is the package lands in -testing where it has to go through the QA, when it got 10 thumbs up you get a new "promote" link to promote it to extras19:41
Pengmanhow long does that usually take? On my phone it is still in devel19:41
fralsno idea actually, someone else should know19:42
fralsmight be described on the wiki at wiki.maemo.org19:42
Pengman The info I have found describe some kind of "automated QA" before it is added to testing, but it does not state how long that should take.19:43
lcukafaik all moves once set in motion would usually be ~1hour tops19:43
lcukthats from prior experience, but at the moment it does seem a bit foobar19:44
Pengmanwell, I guess its the waiting game then.19:44
Pengmanthanks for the answers19:44
